Tutorial and New Trial
period Coming Soon!
Version 1.5 of BMDPedfw, to be released 4th
quarter 2008, will include a
new comprehensive, hands-on tutorial to walk you through the many features
of the program.
Using several fictitious dogs as examples, new
users will be shown in a step-by-step fashion how the various functions
and features of BMDPedfw can be used in making, improving and
documenting their breeding-related decisions.
As well, v1.50 will reset the Trial Period
timer so that those who have had their trial period expire may try the
program again.

BMDPedfw
(Bernese Mountain Dog Pedigree for Windows) is the long-awaited Windows
version of the popular BMDPed for DOS program. A joint product of
Valleyvu Kennels Reg'd and Longstreet Software, it includes a very
comprehensive, extensive and complete database of Bernese Mountain Dogs
and is kept up-to-date on a regular basis and re-issued periodically. |

The software, in conjunction with the database, is designed to be used by Bernese Mountain Dog
breeders as an aide in selecting and evaluating potential breeding stock
through the use of pedigrees, certifications, titles, longevity, in-breeding
coefficients, and sex-linked gene lists, as well as analysis of siblings,
half-siblings, and progeny. |

| The intention is to give the breeder as much information as possible for making good breeding decisions. |

The purpose of this site is to enhance the support services we
provide to our customers. Please use our Forum
as your starting point for assistance, since your comments can provide assistance

Current Status
BMDPed for Windows is ready for you to
download and try. An earlier version
of the
User's Manual is on-site so that you may explore some of the capabilities of the program.

Please send pictures
of your Berners (especially the oldies!) that you would like to have shipped with
the database. Send as many as you wish. These will be available for anyone to the see.
Pictures can be of any size and format (100kB-500kB JPEGs are ideal); we will
convert them as necessary. Email your pictures as attachments to us here.
Printouts:
We have many thoughts on the style and content of the printed reports and
charts, but it is not too late to consider your ideas too (in fact, we very much
encourage your input). Let us know what you would like to see in the printed
format by posting on our Wish List
on the Forum. If you can email us sketches or sample printouts, all the better!
