General Description (see Search Scenario
for a detailed example):
Normal searching is the "Left
String" method, but if the name you are looking for does not show up,
press the "Imbedded" button to see all imbedded occurrences of
your search key. Various
options are available in the search window; experiment to see the
behaviour.
Search columns can be resized by
dragging the boundaries between headings.
Please
note the special behaviour of the vertical scroll bar at the right side of
the search window. This
behaviour is typical for perusing a large database, since the button
remains a manageable size and tiny movements of it do not move you huge
distances as would happen with normal scroll bar behaviour:
-
If the scroll button is at
the top of the scrollbar, you are at the beginning of the database.
-
If the scroll button is at
the bottom of the scrollbar, you are at the end of the database.
-
If the scroll button is in
the middle of the scrollbar, you are somewhere within the database. You then have these options:
-
Clicking above the scroll
button will move you one page towards the beginning of the database.
-
Clicking below the scroll
button will move you one page towards the end of the database
-
Dragging up or down on the
scroll button, then releasing it, will move you a distance dependant
upon how far you have moved the button.
It will then snap back to the middle.
Tabs along the top of the window
let you access other search engines: search for certifications (Hips,
Elbows, Shoulders), search for numbers (Berner-Garde or Registration) and
search by titles (Championship, Obedience).
